Miss Tamang Pokhara’s training begins

Miss Tamang Pokhara’s training begins : Baidam Tamang Samaj Pokhara has started preparations for Miss Tamang Pokhara to be organized in Pokhara every year. Training of the participants has been started from Saturday. This is the sixth edition of Miss Tamang Pokhara organized on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar.

Speaking on the occasion, Jack Tamang, president of the organizing Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj, said that the program would be continued to pass on the original language, culture and traditions to the younger generation. Chief guest of the inauguration program, Gandaki State Assembly member Dhanmaya Tamang said that the existence of the caste was the language, dress and culture of his community. She said that such a creative program would help in reviving the art culture.

The first day training was provided by Upendra Poudel, Assistant Campus Chief of Lexity College. The 45-day training will provide training on language, culture, way of life and traditions of the Tamang caste as well as personality development and leadership development, said Nima Tamang, coordinator of the program and first Miss Tamang Nima Tamang. Aljina Tamang of Pokhara Industrial Area, Sanju Tamang of Simpani, Nira Tamang, Rekha Tamang of Ratnachowk, Pooja Lama of Ranipowwa, Mansi Tamang of Bhedipharam, Jiya Tamang of Hemja, Pema Tamang of Rithepani and Ashika Tamang of Lakeside are participating in the competition.

According to the organizers, the winner of the competition to be held on Saturday, January 3 at Pokhara Assembly Hall will be given a crown, trophy, certificate along with Rs. The first runner-up will receive a crown, trophy, certificate and Rs 50,000 in cash. Similarly, the second runner-up will get Rs 30,000 in cash including crown, trophy and certificate. Jayanti Moktan informed that one person will also get cash prize of Rs. 20,000 as Viewer’s Choice.
